It's definitely going to take some getting used to getting out early every Wednesday. The day just flew by! I really enjoyed that it was rainy and cloudy for the day.
SCR - We read and practiced our vocabulary words!
Brit lit - I shared a google doc with students in order to explore what we already know about British culture, literature and people.
21st Century - Students began collecting the information for their brochure.
Cre ative Writing - began by using a story starter of "she touched the little box in her pocket and she smiled" to write about for five minutes.
Then using our characterse we created in class yesterday you will need to look at the following writing activities. This should take approximately an entire period. You will use 2-3 of these.
- write a letter from this character to his/her parent, spouse child
- write a narrative of this person getting out of bed and to work
- write a memory from their childhood
- write a situation where your character must betray someone he / she loves (internal conflict)
- write your character doing a menial task while feeling excessive quantities of one emotion (ie brushing his teeth right after being dumped)
- write your character dealing with anger
English 11 - Students began brainstorming about the connection between values and culture as well as explored what we already know about American Culture.
