Personal Narratives!
A personal narrative is a story about a moment or event in your life. It is written from the first person point of view and walks the reader through the experience by using figurative language like metaphors, similes, onamonapias, imagery, descriptive word choice and dialogue. Towards the end of the narrative, the writer will look back over the experience and reflect in a concluding paragraph or thought. Often times, personal narratives tell a tale of education, a time when the writer learned something about themselves or life. Below you will find a structure of a personal narrative from the SBCC, as well as several examples of personal narratives. These vary in reading and writing level.
